Group shopping

I think “group shopping” is not a new idea. From the time that I started buy things for myself, I already knew that if you buy bulk, the price will be cheaper. For a lot of events, if you buy as a group (different organization has different policy, 10 or 20 as the benchmark) then you get cheaper tickets. And so on.

At now digital age, we had “groupon” (groupon.com) in the US, similar format “Jumponit” (jumponit.com.au) in Australia…this website just in market for about two months, but I already shopped 5 times, and I haven’t used any of them yet--- all paid in advance. Why did I do that?

Nature—I love shopping. I shop offline and online. Internet makes things too easy. You can search and compare thousands of products online in just a few minutes; it feels like that you are empowered, everything under control.

Deal--- I love good deals. Maybe it’s just the business gimmick, or people won’t buy things without discount or “sales” mark on the merchandise? All ‘good deals” are welcome. These group sales make the deals more real and convincing.

Recognition --- I love recognition. When you see that how many people have shopped the same thing that you also felt quite “appealing”, a “best buy”, then you don’t need to have a 2nd thought to press “BUY NOW” button anymore.

Sharing – I love sharing. Finding a good deal and share with your friends, make you feel like more informed and you are helping people saving money, or enjoy the pleasure together. Why not?

I guess a lot of people like me? So here we go –– group shopping.
With the internet, it only is getting stronger and stronger. How about the mobile, another Catalyst?
