Daily deals are part of our lives now. A lot of us have gone over the excitement at the very beginning, but now just want to use them to work for us in a very simple way. It’s like a marriage, passing through the thrill in early dates, turning into more practical everyday life.
However, Daily deal is yet a very young industry, a lot of entrepreneurs still trying to identify different opportunities to dive in. It’s still a gold mine.
There are of course plenty of flaws and frustrations---
The turmoil not long ago was from Livingsocial selling “Two Pairs of Havaianas Thongs plus Delivery for $24”, but 2971 bought the deal, amazing! Not really cheap, but you can see how powerful the daily deals are. Obviously this number overwhelmed the advertiser; they didn’t have enough in stock. People waited ages for delivery till Livingsocial started offering refund if anybody refused to wait anymore. Similar scenarios happened to me too... 2 months waiting for 6 bottles of wine being delivered, still waiting for some DVD to be shipped, no one answered my phone call from the restaurant, the offer from the restaurant was apparently made-up just for the daily deals, not worth the money at all… A lot of dramas…
Also praise and happiness
A lot of wonderful meals, bought some gifts for special occasions, friends’ birthday, people go out their way to do things they might not consider before & had a lot of fun… we even went to a hotel deal in the suburbs and spent a great weekend there, how wonderful…
I would suggest everyone need to control their emotions, don’t buy random deals just because they seem cheap, purchase only when you feel strongly that you are going to use them.
Enjoy them while the daily deal industry getting more mature is my motto for now. :)
